Homework

The school has always attached great importance to homework, believing that it helps towards the development of self-discipline and gives opportunities for extending knowledge. There is a formal homework timetable in place for each year group.

Parents are asked to support the school in this compulsory element of school life and to see that homework is done regularly and thoroughly at home. As a rough guide the length of time spent per night, ranges from about 1 hour in Year 7 to about 2 hours in Year 11 but this will vary considerably depending on examination requirements. Please contact the school if you have any concerns over your child's homework, or if the guidelines on amounts of time to be spent on homework, appear to be unrealistic. We are always willing to discuss any queries with you.
