Local Sports

At the heart of the community are the town’s schools with the secondary school, Kirkby Stephen Grammar School a designated sports college and home of a number of community facilities including a floodlit, full size Astroturf pitch, floodlit hard tennis courts which are covered by a state of the art air dome in winter, and a hall and gymnasium which hosts gymnastics, basketball and table tennis to name but a few. Elsewhere in Kirkby Stephen, there are superb football facilities with modern changing rooms and a thriving rugby union and cricket club.
