In Music at KSGS, Year 8 is all about building on the work started in Year 7. The music we produce now will be more complex and demonstrate a greater understanding of musical theory.
We study 7 projects:
- Hooks and Riffs
- Offbeat
- Variations
- Jazz and Improvisation
- Bass Lines
- Saharan Sounds
- Refugees and Music Theatre
The topics are taught through listening tasks, performing in ensembles and alone and through composition tasks. Students have many opportunities to use departmental ICT resources – Sibelius.
