At Key Stage 3 in Years 7, 8 and 9, we have three Theme Days per year. The pupils work on topics related to the real world, and solve problems and explore issues, often in groups.
In Year 7, students are set by ability in English and Maths which continues throughout the entire Key Stage, with Science being set in Year 8 onwards. Foundation subjects, which cover the full range of the National Curriculum, are taught in mixed ability groups although there is some setting wherever possible.
Individual music tuition is available for those with a specific interest and parents are asked to indicate this in our Induction Booklet, in order that we can plan for such provision.
We currently offer flute, clarinet, keyboard, saxophone, guitar, drums and singing tuition, delivered by our talented team of peripatetic music staff.
