The latest Ofsted inspection in September 2017 has rated the school as Good in all areas.
Extracts from the report show that the inspectors feel there has been "a significant shift in the culture of safeguarding, which now runs through the school" and that "pupils achieve standards that are above average in a range of subjects. Disadvantaged pupils and those who have special educational needs and/or disabilities make good progress".
Other strengths commented on are leadership and governance. The report states that "leaders have tackled the areas identified in the last inspection quickly and robustly" and "governors know the strengths and weaknesses of the school well". In addition to this, the report states that "strong pastoral support ensures that pupils receive emotional, academic and personal support in a caring and timely manner".
Inspectors also noted that the "sixth form is inclusive and serves the local community well" and that "leaders are passionate and committed to raising students' aspirations".
The leadership team and governors are extremely pleased with the outcome of the report.
