Subject Leader - Science (Chemistry Specialist Preferable)

Located in the picturesque Upper Eden Valley, the Governors of KSGS are seeking to appoint a Subject Team Leader for science who is a forward looking leader with the necessary skills to continue to improve this successful core curriculum area and is an excellent, experienced and highly motivated teacher who can teach all three sciences in Key Stages 3 and Chemistry in Key Stage 4 and 5.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an Ofsted rated GOOD school - we may be small but we're ever so mighty.

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and highly motivated full time subject leader and teacher to lead future developments in Science in a very successful and dedicated department. GCSE and A level examination results have been consistently strong and all sciences are popular A level choices.

The Science Department is comprised of 4 subject specialists, 3 full time and 1 part time. The department offers both double and triple award sciences at GCSE and all three sciences at A level. We are committed to sharing our passion for science, providing a stimulating, dynamic and academically rigorous experience for all our students.

The department are committed to raising aspirations for all students through a rigorous programme of STEM activities. Classes are taught by subject specialists, in ability set groups in all years except year 7 when they are taught in mixed ability form groups.

The department has four dedicated science laboratories, each with projectors; one classroom has a Smart Board.
